Hyderabad Software Process Improvement Network (HYDSPIN) is a forum of software professionals from various organizations for the open exchange of experiences and ideas (educational, scientific, and practical) to bring about process improvements in their organizations.
​HYDSPIN was founded in November 1995 by Sri S. V. Ramana Murthy, Sri B. S. Gandhi, and Sri K. S. Prakasa Rao. The core team, organizing body, and other participants contribute to this forum on a purely voluntary basis to enhance knowledge and maintain an active professional network. Over the past 30 years, HYDSPIN has been one of the most active SPINs across the globe.

Knowledge Sharing Sessions
HYDSPIN has conducted more than one hundred Knowledge Sharing Sessions on a regular basis. These sessions cover a wide range of topics and are delivered by eminent speakers from industry and academic institutions.
Training Programs
To address the specific needs of IT professionals, and in alignment with ASQ guidelines, HYDSPIN has developed comprehensive course material and conducted more than fifty Six Sigma Green Belt and Six Sigma Black Belt training programs
CQA Coaching
Around 1995, the CQA Certification from QAI (Quality Assurance Institute) became a highly sought-after credential for Quality Assurance professionals. In response, HYDSPIN conducted approximately ten training programs to prepare participants for the CQA Certification.
Metrics Benchmarking and Process Benchmarking
Over the years, HYDSPIN has conducted two Metrics Benchmarking studies for development projects, four combined Process and Metrics Benchmarking studies, and one exclusive Process Benchmarking study.The benchmarking results were shared among members to facilitate learning, comparison, and continuous improvement of internal processes.
HYDSPIN – Academic Alliance Programs
HYDSPIN entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pragati Engineering College to conduct workshops for graduate students twice a year.These workshops were delivered by industry practitioners and were aimed at enhancing students’ skills to meet industry requirements. The program was successfully conducted for more than four years until it was paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
