HYDSPIN Co-ordinated in organizing the free seminar "Six Sigma in IT and Software". This seminar was organized by DSS Systems & Software Technologies Ltd, Pune. The seminar was attended by more than 75 people.

HYDSPIN's Process and Metrics Benchmarking session. The session was well attended from different organizations.

Wipro Technologies has agreed to host all the meetings related to Process and Metrics Benchmarking. HYDSPIN Thankful for the same.

Project Manager: BS Gandhi/Maneesha

Metrics Analysis for Development Projects: Adiki Venkatesh(Lead), Ramana, Dheeraj

Metrics Analysis for Maintenance Projects: Manne, Kedarnath, Sateesh

Process Analysis: Shailendra(Lead), Ganesh Puthucode, VV Rao

Team members: Representatives from organizations

Processes to be focused: Project Management, Quality Assurance and Configuration Management.

Metrics to be focused: Development and Maintenance projects 

Major Milestones

1st Aug 2005:Commencement of Data Gathering from organizations

30th Sep 2005: Completion of Data collection

30th Oct 2005: Completion of Data Analysis

15th Nov 2005: Completion of reviews, discussions and draft report

2nd wk of Dec 2005: Presentation of data to industry

Maneesha will be preparing WBS for the above project and circulating to all the members. Team will be meeting every fortnight at the above venue.

Knowledge Point:  It's often better to have a few small, well-focused teams than a single large team.

A Software wizard may not have the temperament or desire to be a team leader. Don't force the wizard to become one.

Jelled teams are the ideal, but they're not easy to achieve. At a minimum, be certain to avoid a "toxic environment".
