HYDSPIN Activities: An Overview

During the past few years Hyderabad SPIN has survived the various difficulties and hurdles normally expected for a professional non-profit organization. Despite the busy schedules and work pressures, the members of Hyderabad SPIN were able to meet and share their knowledge with fellow members.

The target for HYDSPIN on number of sessions is 12 per year i.e. one session per month on an average. At the end of the year, an annual meet is conducted in which summary of the events of the year are presented and a new coordinator is elected for next year. New/ Renewal of membership for the coming year is done the same day.

Following is the usual agenda of annual meet.

09:30 – 10:00 hrs : Registration and Networking

10:00 – 10:15 hrs : Annual Report by Coordinator

10:15– 11:00 hrs : Guest Lecture session

11:00 – 11:15 hrs : Coffe/Tea Break

11:15 – 12:15 hrs : Benchmarking Results - Presentation

12:15 – 12:30 hrs : Presentation of Mementoes

12:30 – 12:45 hrs : Vote of Thanks by Coordinator

12:45 - 13:00 hrs: Selection of New SPIN Coordinator; Plans for Next Year

13:00 onwards : Annual Gala lunch

2005

  • Introduced a new roles as Support Coordinators for CSQA Sessions, Newsletter, Benchmarking
  • Initiated Process Benchmarking along with Metric Benchmarking
  • Ten Organizations Participated in the Benchmarking Exercise (go to Benchmarking Report 2005)
  • Quality Workshop was conducted in which Best Practices were shared from member organizations

  • Starting November 1997 an exclusive email account has been launched for the SPIN coordinator, to facilitate a faster exchange of ideas between the members who have an email facility. Members can ask for information and clarification of their doubts by sending us an email. However, since this is purely a voluntary service, neither SPIN coordinators nor SPIN can be held responsible for any delay in forwarding/replying of queries and doubts.
